Daryl went before the Southwest District Committee on Ordained Ministry today to get re-certified as a candidate for ministry. These certifications interviews are very important because you can't get a job in the Florida United Methodist Conference as a pastor even with a seminary education unless you've been approved by the Boards. And he was re-certified today unanimously and miraculously with no contingencies - Yeah!!!! We give thanks for God's faithfulness in carrying Daryl through this process in fulfilling the call placed upon his life.
The next step is to apply to the Conference Board for commissioning as a probationary elder. He has requested his paperwork and has until April 1st to submit his answers to all the theology and leadership questions (this typically ends up being around 80-90 pages of typewritten information when completed). Please keep Daryl in your prayers as he works to balance writing out this important paperwork with spring classes on campus and life at home.
