Ten Years

Although Mommy and Daddy met in 1981, the Allen Family was established ten years ago today as Mommy and Daddy were married at the First United Methodist Church of Seffner on July 10, 1999. It's been a wonderful and very interesting ten years. So we thought as a tribute, we'd take a look back and see what we've been up to.

In the last ten years we have:

• moved four times (Nicholasville, Ky; Fort Myers, Hudson and now Ocala, Fl)
• lived in an apartment and three houses (ranging from 800-2500 sq ft)
• taken trips and vacations to: Puerto Rico; US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas and St. John); British Virgin Islands (Virgin Gorda and Tortola); Chicago, IL; Washington DC; New York, NY; Louisville, KY; Cincinnati, OH; Siesta Key Beach, FL; Daytona Beach, FL; St. Augustine/Jacksonville, FL; Orlando, FL (including Disney and Sea World); Plantation, FL; Huntington and Bath IN
• said goodbye to one cat friend (Bubba) and adopted two others (Mary and Joseph)
• had two of the most AMAZING little boys ever!!!!!
• obtained 4 degrees (one AA, one BA, and two MDivs)
• done two units of hospital chaplaincy (one each)
• done two student internships (one each)
• served four churches (Tice UMC, Faith UMC and now Druid Hills and Belleview UMC)
• traded in a Saturn SL2 for a used Ford Windstar
• donated another very used Saturn SL2 and bought a used Chevy Malibu
• buried 1 great-grandparent (Daryl's great-grandma, Beulah Sparks)
• buried 4 grandparents (Daryl's grandpa, Howard Davis; Debbie's grandparents, Paul and Thelma Keller and Helen Washburn)
• and until last week lived at max on one full-time income and one part-time income (because the other spouse was full-time in school)

It's been a very busy and blessed 10 years. We are certainly looking forward to the next 10!
