For the last four or five years, Belleview has held an annual church picnic out at Lake Weir and brought worship with them. This year they decided to combine the annual picnic with Mommy's official welcome party. Sunday morning we met at the Kiwanis Park on the lake and held worship inside the meeting hall there which was decorated out for a luau theme complete with leis for every person and even a flower for Mommy's hair. Dress was very casual and Mommy ended up preaching in a nice blouse and khaki capris. Since Daddy couldn't be there, Grandmommy and Granddaddy, Grannie, Miss Joan, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Dawn and the cousins came up to be part of the day. We had about 150 people out at the lake for the party!
We wrapped up worship about 11am and spent the next hour setting up tables and food and having fun outside - swimming, canoeing, volleyball, horseshoes!
We settled in for the food about noon (with a brief rainstorm outside). The church provided drinks as well as hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone brought in sides and desserts. There was even a welcome cake on the table. It was an incredible spread of food.
The boys had so much fun before lunch that Parker laid his head down and Wesley actually took a little nap!
Daddy came down after church and ate lunch. Fortunately the rain cleared up and everyone was able to go back outside and play for several more hours. The kids had a lot of fun swimming, finding mussel shells, playing under the dock and also going canoeing. We had a very good time with everyone - the picnic was a great way to celebrate and say "Welcome!"
