Siesta Key Beach - Day Two

Starting off this evening with some pictures from the Siesta Royale's website showing the view of the place from the beach and of our unit. We are on the bottom, just to the right of the stairs.

Sunday morning we slept in. It was blissfully after 9am before we woke up and we puttered around taking our time with breakfast and getting ready for the beach. Grandmommy and Granddaddy came back about 10:30am to spend part of the day with us. It was pretty overcast and there weren't a lot of people out there, but we still had fun. Granddaddy and Daddy took a walk down to the Point of Rocks and Grandmommy and Mommy played with the boys in the water and the sand. One of Parker's favorite things today was playing beach raquetball with Grandmommy on the sand.

When the thunderstorms started looming in, we headed to the pool for a little dip and then inside to hang out before lunch. After that we hung out in the apartment playing before venturing back out for another stint in the pool. This time Parker had Grandmommy help him find the shuffleboard equipment so he could play on the court for a bit, right next to the pool. Wesley had a blast in the water with Grandmommy - he is getting so brave in the water and loves to put his whole face in and even dunk under the water! Grandmommy and Granddaddy left in the late afternoon just as the storms rolled in again. We played Wii in the apartment and snoozed until heading to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. When we got back, Daddy settled in for some preseason football on the TV while Mommy and the boys headed down to walk on the beach for a bit. We ran into a family that was fishing - they had caught several catfish, a Spanish mackerel, a sea trout and some other things. Interestingly enough though there was a huge pool of water trapped back about twenty feet off the shore. So they were releasing all of their catch into the pool until they headed back to their apartment. The boys got the biggest kick out of seeing all those fish up close, especially the funny catfish. Despite the weather, we had a great day!
