The last week has been extremely busy. We had planned a trip to Seffner late Sunday afternoon for Parker's birthday dinner with both families. We ended up going to Seffner as soon as we could get out of worship and get changed - we received a phone call on Sunday morning that Grandpa had been taken to the hospital after being found unresponsive in the middle of the night.
We dropped off the boys with Grandmommy and Grandaddy and joined Grandma at Brandon Hospital. By that time Grandpa was sedated, intubated and had received a temporary external pacemaker to help counter the effects of his heart attack. We spent a few hours there before heading back to Grandmommy and Grandaddy's for Parker's party and eventually we headed home to Ocala.
Monday morning Mommy left with her friend Charissa on a long-planned trip to the Southeastern Jurisdiction Clergywomen's Consultation at Emory University in Atlanta and didn't get home until late Thursday evening. This left all "the mans" at home by themselves. Daddy did a super great job balancing work and munchkin care. There was a bad storm that blew though though and Daddy had to retrieve our little tent gazebo from the back porch off of our roof one morning! Mommy kept in touch with Grandma while she was away and Grandpa is much more stable after receiving a permanent pacemaker on Tuesday. He is still receiving assistance with breathing but his blood pressure and heart rate are doing better and is kidney function (which was a problem earlier) is also improving. Prayers for his full recovery would certainly be appreciated.
