Last Sunday marked Mommy and Daddy's twelfth wedding anniversary. We spent the morning as usual in both churches for worship and then Mommy had a meeting after church. When we all got home, we headed to Taco Bell for lunch and much to the delight of the boys, ate inside (it's so easy to keep them happy sometimes!)
We spent the rest of the afternoon at home watching old home movies. Everything was on cassette and so we had to borrow a VCR from Mommy's church to watch them. But thanks to modern technology, Daddy hooked everything up to our DVD recorder and so while we were watching we were also recording everything to DVD! First we watched the video montages that we had made for Grandma Washburn's 80th birthday, Grandma and Grandpa Keller's 60th anniversary and Grandmommy and Granddaddy's 30th anniversary. And then we dug out Mommy and Daddy's wedding video and watched the entire thing from start to finish. It took a little over two hours, but we were able to see all of the pre-wedding preparation, the family pictures, the ceremony, the reception with all of its dancing, and the trashing(decorating) of our car by the bridal party! It was really a nice way to remember how this little family got its start and to mark the day in a special way.
We had our "official" anniversary date the next day while the kids were in school. We started off at Wild Waters, getting to ride all of the rides we can't when the boys are with us. Then we came home, showered and changed and headed out for lunch at Panera Bread, before finishing up our date at the movies where we saw the latest Transformers film. A wonderful day for just the two of us!
