All's Well That Ends Well - We Hope

Tuesday Daddy got an email while he was away on a RIM Retreat in St. Augustine. It read something to the effect that the registrar of the Board of Ordained Ministry had reviewed his final transcript and discovered that he had not taken a worship leadership/liturgy class in seminary that was required by the Book of Discipline in order to be ordained. Therefore he would not be able to be ordained. The next 24 hours was a roller coaster of emotion. Mommy rushed home and found Daddy's transcript proving he had taken a worship class called WO515 Sacramental Theology. She emailed him the syllabus and course description which he emailed along to the registrar of the board with a note. No word that night. Wednesday morning Daddy got an email back saying that the course description demonstrated much more of a worship focus than the name of the class suggested. But the registrar needed the approval of a few more people on the board before giving the final ok. It wasn't until around 2:30pm that Daddy got the last email saying that the other three people who needed to give their approval signed off on the class and so Daddy was all set to go. And the registrar apologized for any anxiety that this process had caused. Anxiety? That was the understatement of the year. The thought of delaying everything and having to go back and take another seminary class was not appealing in the least. So right now everything is back on track and we are awaiting word sometime in November about whether or not Daddy will be granted an interview for ordination as an elder.
