Today was the first day of school in Marion County.
This was the pile of supplies that accompanied two little boys to school.
It's Mr. Third Grade on the left and Mr. VPK on the right.
All spiffy with their new clothes, sneakers and backpacks.
We took Wesley to school first at Carousel.
He was over the moon to get to be in Miss Louisa's class.
Then we took Parker to school.
We navigated the packed parking lot and visited the office.
We missed orientation last Friday so we needed to buy Parker a homework planner.
We were able to walk him to his class and meet his teacher, Mrs. Daunhauer.
It's her first year in third grade, but thankfully not her first year teaching or at South Ocala.
She was very sweet and super prepared.
She recognized Parker on sight and called him by name when we walked in;
apparently she had been studying the yearbook.
And she had already caught that FLAME wasn't on his schedule for some reason
and spoken to the guidance office to get it straightened out.
The first day of school was a great success here.
Praying it is a great indicator of things to come this year.
