On Saturday we slept in again and then headed to do some shopping in the outlet malls.
We found a few good bargains, including a couple of things for Davis.
In the afternoon we headed over to the Gaylord Palms Hotel and Convention Center
to see ICE: Merry Madagascar. The boys were so excited because they like the Madagascar movies.
And because they watched a little video that talked about where the sculptors come from who do this work.... From Harbin, China!
Three years ago when we were here, we arrived a bit later than our scheduled time
and had to wait around for quite a while to get in.
So this year we were plenty early and had time to wander around and entertain ourselves...
what else do you do with a giant escalator inside and a great big lawn outside?
Finally it was our turn to get suited up and go inside.
Wearing their spiffy blue coats on loan. The temperature inside the exhibit is 9 degrees.
The ice slides. We all took a turn!
By this time we were getting kind of hungry.
We decided to explore one of the Disney resort areas for dinner.
There is a hotel here (Boardwalk Inn) and Disney Vacation Club Condos (Boardwalk Villas).
The whole area is themed to Americana, and designed to look like the Atlantic City boardwalk.
Chandelier in the lobby.
Giant gingerbread gazebo and house in the lobby.
We went out the back of the lobby to see the restaurants, shops and entertainment.
On the right hand side was the ESPN Club.
This is where we landed for dinner.
There are supposedly over 90 TVs in this restaurant,
and several of those were in the bathrooms....
Afterwards we strolled along and did some shopping and took in the different entertainers.
This guy was balancing a basketball hoop on his head and making every shot.
The next guy did some interesting juggling.
The boys didn't even mind standing around in the cold because they were so captivated.
These steps looked like too much of a challenge as we headed back to the car.
So they raced.............Daddy won!
