Christmas Caroling

We spent Saturday afternoon and evening hanging out with the folks from Druid Hills. They went Christmas caroling for the first time in several years and we got to tag along. There was a group of about 30 people! We started out at Hampton Manor in Ocala and sang in the lobby to quite a few residents. Davis fell asleep in the car on the way over (5 minute ride) and stayed asleep through our whole visit.

Our next stop was Chambrell. They put us up on the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the dining room and we sang to the residents during dinner. It was so neat to lean over and see so many of them singing along with us! They had some neat decorations and some of the kids found other ways to entertain themselves on this stop. Eventually Davis and Jami shared my lap as we sang.

We headed back to the church and had a wonderful chili supper. Six families had made big pots of chili and there were chips and cornbread and yummy desserts too. Once everyone had enough to eat, we split into two groups to visit a few of the church's shut-ins at their homes. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and fun together!
