Yesterday was a milestone day in the Allen household. It was our 8 month anniversary with Davis, Wesley had 2 more teeth pulled, and Parker had his Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. We skipped dessert at the banquet and took the whole family to Peachwave to celebrate instead! There will be more blog posts in the next few days about Davis and Wesley's milestones, but this post is all about Parker and scouting.
Pack 112 had a really nice banquet. They got sponsorships and food donations from local businesses so our meal included salad from Olive Garden, barbeque beans from Sonny's, roasted chicken from Wal-Mart and pulled pork from Mojo's. They invited some of the council officers and the Marion County sheriff attended too. And we had some entertainment - scouts from Jacksonville doing Native American dancing.
Parker made the teepee centerpiece and the feather headband. That's his friend Brock sitting with us. |
The Webelos responsible for the flag ceremony and Parker carried in the Pack flag.
Parker receiving his awards from the Cubmaster, Mr. Moser.
Mr. and Mrs. Kennard standing by are his Den leaders.
He earned four activity pins (Citizenship, Naturalist, Outdoorsman and Fitness), three belt loops (Citizenship, Video Games, and Geology), plus a patch for Scout Sunday and also his Webelos badge. We're so very proud of all the progress Parker has made over the last four years of Scouting.
The Native American dancing was very interesting and they even had one routine where they invited all the Scouts out to dance with them, as you can see in the second video.
All of the Pack 112 scouts and leaders present at the banquet. Good times.
