Last night was the Pack 112 Pinewood Derby.
It was Parker's fourth and final Pinewood Derby as a Cub Scout.
His car weighed in just at the maximum of 5oz.
They did a new style of racing - not paying attention so much to times but assigning a point value
to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places - of 0, 1 and 2 respectively.
Once you reached 6 points you were eliminated from the derby.
Parker was the last Webelo left, meaning he finished first for his Webelo den and should receive a prize for that at next week's Pack meeting. And he hung in there almost to the last race, coming in 4th overall in the pack!
Parker is supposed to advance to the District Pinewood Derby but we will be away for spring break. So they are checking to see if someone can run his car for him in his absence. Whether or not his car gets to run at districts, Parker has qualified for districts all four years and run twice at the council derby. He certainly has had an amazing run of Pinewood Derby in the last four years!
