Monday morning dawned bright and early and we were walking in the gates of the Magic Kingdom shortly before the official opening at 9am. Rain was heavy in the forecast for the day, but all we got were some clouds and light sprinkles in the early am. Maybe that's why Main Street looked emptier than it usually is.
The first thing we did was run for Buzz Lightyear's Ranger Spin.
Daryl and Parker were our top scoring family members.
Then it was time for Tomorrowland Speedway.
Parker rode by himself; Daryl and Wesley rode together and Davis and I shared a car.
Davis thought it was great!
Then Astro Orbiter, high above Tomorrowland.
Next Davis wanted to meet Stitch! Davis talked to him and gave him a "high-5." In our family shot, Davis is still grinning from ear to ear and won't stop staring at Stitch.
Then we headed towards the new section of Fantasyland. This is the 7 Dwarves Mine Train that isn't quite done yet.
Storybook Circus area. We loved the new Dumbo ride and all the boys were thrilled with Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster.
We took a quick trip back to Tomorrowland for our FastPass+ time for Buzz Lightyear and then we hit the Carousel of Progress before going back to Fantasyland for lunch. We had reservations at the Beast's Castle - or more accurately the Be Our Guest Restaurant inside. Usually BOG only accepts dinner reservations, but we were participating in a FastPass+ trial to test lunch reservations. The details of the restaurant were amazing inside! We used our MagicBands to order at touch screen computers and then we were handed a receipt. We could sit anywhere we wanted in the three dining rooms. They used the technology in our MagicBands to find our seat and bring us our food. The food was great and after eating we wandered around checking out the other dining rooms before leaving.
The braised pork that Parker and I both had for lunch.
The next part of our afternoon was spent at the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World and the Hall of Presidents (where we caught part of the afternoon parade from the front porch), and the Country Bear Jamboree. Parker actually wiggled out a tooth on the way out of the Haunted Mansion ride!
Our next stop was over at Pirates of the Caribbean with a FastPass reservation. The boys had fun playing around in the gift shop afterwards. Davis was trying on Jake the Pirate gear.
We doubled back over to Fantasyland because the Disney phone app showed that the wait times for the new Ariel's Undersea Adventures had finally gone down.
It was back to Tomorrowland for us after that. The big boys wanted to see the Laugh Floor show with the characters from Monsters Inc and then we had rode the PeopleMover around before our FastPass+ reservation for Space Mountain. Since Davis isn't tall enough for this one, Daryl and I had to take turns. Wesley finally decided that it was time to try it out, so he went with me first and then rode again when Daryl went through.
We hit the Jungle Cruise next and had dinner at Pecos Bill cafe where we caught the end of the Electric Light Parade while dining at our table.
It was after 9pm by now. The boys still wanted to ride Peter Pan so we headed over there. It was the longest line of our day at 30 minutes. Someone hitched a ride with his big brother instead of walking.
When Peter Pan was over, we walked right onto It's a Small World for another quick ride. I asked Davis to smile in this picture and he kept squinting his eyes shut. So I asked him to open up his eyes…..and he grabbed his eyelids with his fingers and tried to pry them open!
This time through the boys spotted The Monkey King depicted in the section for China.
Afterwards we stood on the street and caught part of the fireworks show before heading to the entrance. The thing that took the longest was getting the ferry back to the parking lot! Almost a 14 day in the park and a very magical way to celebrate spring break and our 9 month anniversary with Davis.
