With the boys out of school last Friday we took off for a mini-vacation in Orlando as a family. At Disney we had lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe inside Fort Wilderness Lodge. From there we took a boat over to the Contemporary hotel to hop a ride on the monorail and ended up at EPCOT for a few hours. We finished the day off with some shopping at Downtown Disney.
Saturday morning found us at Legoland for their Brick-N-Treat Celebration. Davis was finally tall enough to ride one of the roller coasters, and so we all climbed on board the Dragon. He has a few more inches to grow before he can ride the last two big coasters in the park. Wesley and I rode the Coastersaurus coaster later together and then he rode the Technic Test Track with Daryl.
Miniland had a Scavenger Hunt for 7 ghost letters. When you unscramble them into a word, you can enter a contest for a free Lego set - the Halloween word was "Vampire." There were lots of other fall and Halloween details added throughout Miniland as well.
The highlight of the day was the Brick N Treat Trail in the afternoon. The boys got free goodie bags and were able to go through the trail and collect lots of great candy and some special Halloween Lego bricks.
It may have been a quick trip, but it was a good opportunity for the five of us to spend some concentrated time together, have fun and make some memories.
