We spent a few days in Daytona Beach last week at the Residents in Ministry (RIM) Leader Training and Family retreat. RIM is a group that works with all of the provisional elders and deacons in the annual conference for the first thee years of their ministries. I'm on the conference design team and Daryl is now one of the district leaders who facilitate the monthly covenant groups. RIM puts up the leaders in The Shores Resort for our meetings right on the beach. This was our annual design team planning meeting and also our chance to lay out expectations and best practices for the district leaders in their upcoming meetings. So thankful to spend some time with our colleagues in ministry working together for an important ministry like RIM!
The boys had a lot of fun with their sitter Denie while we were in our meetings - swimming and playing: making forts and stuffed animal hammocks on the bed.
In the afternoons we were able to do a few touristy things. Monday we toured and climbed the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and had dinner at Hidden Treasure.
Another afternoon we got dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and went to Ocean Walk to see the newest Marvel movie Ant-Man before we got in a little pool time. The kids got these cool little shark drinks at dinner. And the movie theater had these luxurious leather reclining seats with footrests! Thankfully the movie was good and interesting enough to keep everyone awake; except for Davis. He was out 5 minutes after they turned off the lights and woke up in time to see the movie end.
