Band Christmas Concert

Last Thursday night, Parker had his very first band concert at Carver Middle School. The Christmas concert came together very nicely in the school gymnasium. There are two periods of beginning band students and both played together at the beginning of the concert.

Parker's in the middle just to the right of the band director's head in the picture.

Some of the beginning band students had speaking parts as they talked about their journey from kids with no musical experience to playing a song in a concert. Parker auditioned and was granted the opportunity to have the very last speaking part.

The Beginning Band's Christmas song - Angels on Parade.

See the girl in the reindeer antlers? That's Grace. She's the daughter of one of the teachers at the elementary school and she loves to hang out with Davis. Her sister is beginning band with Parker and she decided to hang out with us in the crowd during the whole concert.

All of the other bands played as well including symphonic band, wind ensemble and the jazz band. We had students from church in all of those bands as well. They all did a fantastic job with their Christmas music!

Daryl and I with Faye and Brandon from church - our children's director and youth director. They both came out to cheer on all the kids from CUMC who are in the bands.
