Holy Week was spring break for schools in Lake County. That doesn't work out real well when you are a double-PK and your parents have to be present for extra worship services during the week and Easter Sunday morning! So we traded our day off for Monday, boarded the dog at the kennel and headed out after the Passover seder for one day at Disney. The rest of the week the little boys attended spring break camp at Warren Willis and Parker got to chill at home. We're taking an official family vacation in a couple of weeks and pulling the boys out of school for it, but we wanted at least one day during Holy Week to be special family time. We spent the night at the Doubletree in Disney Springs and then headed over to Hollywood Studios for our Monday fun.
Davis and the Army man from Toy Story.
The whole gang at the Lights Motors Action Show! This was the whole reason we chose this park for the day. This show is Wesley's hands-down favorite Disney attraction. It goes away forever in April before our vacation to make room for the new Toy Story and Star Wars expansions taking place in this park. We wanted him to be able to experience it one more time.
Also going away is the Streets of America area where the Osborne Light Display used to be at Christmas; they were already dismantling the buildings. And the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground is slated for demolition too.
Lunch was at the famous Mama Melrose's Italian Restaurant. This is how every meal should end right? Cappuccino and tiramisu!
Parker decided he really, really wanted a Kylo Ren lightsaber. Happy early Birthday buddy!
I finally beat the whole family at Toy Story Midway Mania. And Davis got 43,800 points all by himself with no help!
Our final stop was the new Star Wars Launch Bay where we got to see movie props from the latest Star Wars movie and also meet Kylo Ren and Chewbacca! Kylo Ren was super creepy but Chewbacca was super friendly and cuddly.
It was a very nice day together as a family in one of our favorite places.
