Vacation - Animal Kingdom Part 1

We had a beautiful Friday afternoon at Animal Kingdom while on vacation. We enjoyed the Kilimanjaro Safari ride first with all of the animals and beautiful scenery.

Then we spent some time hanging out in the middle of the park and creating some music!

The Festival of the Lion King show is one of Wesley's favorite things to do here. This performance is always so well done.

There are a few more characters here than there used to be. The boys got the chance to meet Baloo and King Louie from the movie Jungle Book.

This is a new area in the shadow of Expedition Everest that will soon be seating for a new night-time show Rivers of Light at the park. We were hoping it would open while we there but it has been delayed a few weeks.

Davis and I on the Triceratops Spin while the big boys rode the roller coaster Primeval Whirl. And then all of us rode the big Dinosaur ride. Not everyone in our group was thrilled about this ride - it's dark and loud and shakes you all around. Davis wanted to ride it again!

Our dinner for the evening was over at the Polynesian hotel in their restaurant Ohana. That title comes from the Lilo and Stich movie - Ohana means family and family means "no one gets left behind." The food was amazing. It was all you could eat served family style and the boys were super impressed with the main course: shrimp, chicken and steak on big spears that came right out to the table. There was entertainment and we even got to learn a little hula dancing. We had great seats near the windows and we could see over to the castle at the Magic Kingdom. As we were finishing up our dinner we got to see the Wishes fireworks over the castle and they even piped in the park music into the restaurant. Parker got a special treat for his recent birthday - and he ended up with a double celebration as he lost another tooth for the Tooth Fairy during dinner!
