Sunday night we said goodbye to our youth group leader at Community, Brandon Bishop. He's dropping down to part-time in September to continue working with our Contemporary Worship service. Daryl and the kids had gifts for him and a lot of the kids dressed up like Brandon - flannel shirts, jeans and sandals. Daryl led the group in a special time of prayer for the next season of Brandon's life.
We also got to introduce the new Youth Director to the students and their families, Sharon Quackenbush. She and her husband Tom have connections to the Warren Willis Camp and the Life Enrichment Center. We're excited to see her use her gifts with Parker and the other youth in our church and community!
Davis was exhausted after running around playing with all of the big kids and so at one point, he just passed out in my lap! When we moved onto the next activity he was still asleep so several of the parents made him a bed out of chairs so he could keep on sleeping! What a great group of people who keep finding ways to love on our boys!
