We spent the last day of 2017 in the Cayman Islands - we visited here two years ago and went to the Turtle Farm. We opted to go snorkeling this time. We went out on a charter through Cayman Diving and had a great time snorkeling around the sunken USS Kittiwake and also Cheeseburger Reef.
Davis wouldn't snorkel at the shipwreck, but he tried at the reef for a few minutes. Then he almost drowned Daryl trying to crawl up on top of his shoulders and so he went back to the boat. Daryl and I took turns snorkeling with the bigger boys and they loved it and did awesome!
Dinner was an incredibly festive affair and our only formal night of the trip. The whole table was done up in decorations we could wear and keep with us and there was a special menu.
The waiters and bus boys entertained us as well with dancing and even singing Auld Lang Syne.
We went back to the room after that and let everyone change into more comfy clothes. The guys caught some football in the Lido Restaurant along with one of our new friends Randy from dinner.
Then we wandered out to the Grand Atrium with half the ship for the ballon drop at 11pm. So many people and so much energy as we all gathered and danced and sang to the music from the DJ waiting for the balloons to drop.

After that the party moved to the Lido Deck until midnight. Lots more music, dancing, and free stuff - glasses, glowsticks and champagne for the adults.
There were lots and lots of people out to celebrate.
At midnight, the ship's horn blew, there was a burst of confetti streamers
and the year changed up on deck to 2018!
It was an incredibly cool way to ring in the New Year!
