Over the weekend, I went to one of the Women's Marches that were held around the country. I went to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of women having the right to vote (incidentally, women of color did not get this right until many years later with the Civil Rights movement). There were about 50 of us who marched, masked and distant, from Clermont's Waterfront Park to City Hall (about 3/4 of a mile). The police accompanied us and we were very warmly welcomed by the folks along the path. I wore my pink clergy shirt and my Ruth Bader Ginsburg mask - Fight for the Things You Care About. I am so glad I went to represent and mark this important occasion.
