Last weekend I spent time as a DS at the United Women in Faith Spiritual Enrichment retreat in Fruitland Park. Before it started, I got to hang out with the Landstedts for dinner and after the Friday night session I spent the night at their house. I also managed to get in some time to walk the labyrinth at camp.
Saturday morning it was back for more retreat time.
Me with the Conference UWF President, Dr. Judith Pierre-Okerson. |
This was our speaker for the weekend, one of my former RIMees. |
And then after the retreat was over, I drove to Seffner and picked up Parker and dropped him off in Sarasota. Then I drove down to Marco Island in order to be there for worship the next day. The church arranged for me to stay in a condo of a church member right on the beach - South Seas West on the 16th floor. So lovely!
I went to dinner with the pastor and her husband that night. Still some beautiful views when I woke up the next morning too.
Wesley UMC Marco Island was dedicating and blessing volunteers for a new Dementia Respite program ministry that was launching this week. I was happy to be able to worship with them and celebrate this.
Their church is pretty unique - on a canal with 900 feet of seawall.
Their memorial garden is right on the water.
