All Around Town

I spent 5 days in Lakeland and Auburndale last week. 

Things started with a Ministry Hub meeting on Saturday at the conference office - Latricia and I represent "Clergy Recruitment and Formation." 

I walked a labyrinth in Lakeland before heading to spend time with the Hills in Auburndale. Madeleine's new ferret Honey loved crawling into my purse. 

 

I spent the night and went to worship with them and Parker the next day. I always enjoy hearing CJ preach and was grateful for the chance (miss this since Community).

When I checked into the hotel later that day, I was the hotel guest of the day. It came with snacks I couldn't eat but I shared with the other cabinet members. 

Our Cabinet meeting started with dinner, homemade by our Bishop's wife Karen. She navigated my food allergies perfectly and even made a special bbq sauce just for me. 

 

Cabinet meetings lasted through Tuesday and I stayed another night for more Office of Clergy Excellence meetings. Then on Thursday, I went with Daryl to Grace UMC for a district clergy gathering. HIs folks hosted a lovely picnic themed meal (with gourmet hot dogs!) and we had fun getting to know some of the newer pastors in the district.
