I drove up to Georgia on Sunday afternoon to visit with my cousins Russ and his wife Karen before heading to a work conference in Georgia.
My mom and her two sisters had five children between them.
Russ is the oldest of the cousins. He's a professor at Georgia Tech and he and Karen relocated to Kilkenny fulltime a couple of years ago (just south of Richmond Hill/Savannah).
Their house is on Kilkenny creek, just off the intercoastal waterway, between the mainland and Ossabaw Island. They are a sailing family and keep a catamaran sailboat there.
They also have some solar panels and a chicken coop on their property.
While I was there, one of the neighbors was getting a damaged boat dock torn down and replaced.
We also drove up to Savannah and had lunch along the riverfront.
We had a really wonderful time reconnecting together and it was great to be able to hang out and share stories. Loved getting to spend time with my side of the family.
