Here's a couple more pictures from Saturday night of me leading at the women's retreat.
Sunday morning I started off with worship at Terra Ceia UMC. I went there to celebrate
the retirement of their longtime pastor, Don Ringland, who has served
them for 36 years. Don's wife Mary plays the organ and directs the
choir.
Don is being succeeded by the church's lay leader as a new lay supply pastor, Anita LeVan.
Anita's son Jeremy came to celebrate with his mom.
And
then I went to Trinity UMC in Bradenton for their 11am worship service.
Bishop Berlin was preaching and I was invited to lead the pastoral
prayer time. Afterwards we went to lunch with a bunch of the church
leaders at someone's nearby home.
Tuesday
we had a virtual tour online with our district Zoe Empowerment group in
Kenya. Our district churches together are sponsoring this group of 23
young adults as they learn skills and build businesses to help them
support their younger siblings that they are raising. Daryl and I will
be going to visit them in person this summer.
Thursday
Daryl and I drove down to Fort Myers for our DCOM meeting. I didn't get
any good pictures of all of us together, but I did get this picture of
our district lay leader all dolled up as our hospitality person to
welcome the candidates to their interviews.
